Forescout Names Niels Jensen Regional Vice President of Federal Sales
Cupertino, Calif — July 11, 2012 —Forescout Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of automated security control solutions for Fortune 1000 enterprises and government organizations, today announced that Niels Jensen has joined Forescout as regional vice president, federal sales. Jensen is tasked with advancing Forescout’s sales strategy for the federal market to further expand the adoption of the company’s CounterACT platform across all government agencies.
Forescout’s solutions help U.S. federal agencies comply with numerous FISMA requirements including the NIST SP 800-53 and SP 800-37 security guidelines, and accelerate the means for Department of Defense (DoD) contractor and connecting networks to more cost-efficiently and effectively meet advanced “comply to connect” requirements:
- Network access control: The requirement for port-based network access control is contained in the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) that is published by the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA); this document states that all DoD networks must control access at the switch port
- IAVA: U.S. DoD networks must comply with Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) standards
- Unauthorized devices and applications: Many defense organizations have requirements to ensure that all network devices are accounted for, that active host-based security system (HBSS) defenses are active, and that the policy of prohibiting the use of devices and applications, such as USB memory sticks and peer-to-peer (P2P) applications, is enforced
More recently, Forescout, which is included in the U.S. Army Information Assurance Approved Products List (AIAAPL), achieved the industry¹s highest level of security certification for a Network Access Control (NAC) solution involving assurances from the EAL 4+ level.
“We are pleased to have Niels join the Forescout team and bring his extensive experience engaging with federal agencies and policymakers to craft large-scale integrated solutions in rapidly changing, highly complex and secure government IT infrastructures,” said Brant Kennedy, vice president of worldwide sales at Forescout.

Before that Jensen spent ten years at IBM in increasingly senior executive sales positions in the federal technology space. Jensen is a graduate of the American University.
“Given numerous access control requirements and the government’s overall push for continuous endpoint compliance, it’s an exciting time to join Forescout,” said Jensen. “Forescout has the superior approach to meet these critical enclave security mandates as well as provide comprehensive mobile device security, a challenge that is top-of-mind in every agency today.
