CAMPBELL, Calif., April 9, 2015 – Forescout Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of continuous monitoring and mitigation solutions that help enterprises prevent and respond to cyberthreats, today announced that it has received the award for Network Project of the Year (Public Sector) at the Network Computing Awards 2015, held in London, UK, on 19th March. The honour was bestowed based on Sutton and East Surrey Water (SESW)’s deployment of Forescout’s flagship product CounterACT®, which enables the water company to achieve comprehensive, real-time visibility of its internal network.

Selected by Network Computing magazine’s editor Ray Smyth as winner of the award, SESW’s implementation of Forescout CounterACT beat four other public sector project finalists in the category. These were Hampshire County Council / AIT; Leicester City Council / Workspace Technology; Telestroke / Imerja and University of Loughborough / iTrinegy.

SESW’s deployment of Forescout CounterACT was implemented by BlueFort Security, a UK-based specialist integrator of enterprise IT solutions in the security and mobility space, after a successful on-site proof of concept to the customer’s IT security team last year. Forescout CounterACT not only exceeded SESW’s requirements while remaining within budget, but it also maximised the water company’s internal security compliance by delivering greater operational oversight of authorised and unauthorised users, devices and software on its network.

“We are delighted to have won this prominent award, which demonstrates the breadth of CounterACT’s continuous monitoring and mitigation capabilities, while also enabling Sutton and East Surrey Water to maximise its IT security investment,” said John Hagerty, EMEA director for Channels and Strategic Alliances at Forescout Technologies. “The fact that Forescout’s ControlFabric® architecture enables CounterACT and other IT systems to exchange information allows SESW to achieve a more holistic security posture, and helps them to prevent and respond to cyberthreats continuously.”
