Forescout's Internet Threat Mitigation Service Now Available

Accurate Containment of Threats Network (ACTNet) Detects and Protects Against Malicious Sources on the Internet

RSA Show - SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.—Feb 15, 2005—ForeScout Technologies, whose patented technology is the only customer-validated, independently verified security solution that has been proven to prevent real-time and/or zero-day malicious attacks from both self-propagating malware and human attackers, announced today that its ACTNet (www.accuthreat.net) service is now available. ACTNet, a subscriber-based, fully-automated service based on ForeScout's patented ActiveResponse technology, can identify, with 100 percent accuracy, malicious activity, making it an effective real-time defense tool.

ForeScout's ActiveScout customers will be the first to join the ACTNet service. With this connection to ACTNet, the ActiveScout receives accurate, actionable data about offensive sources from across the globe. When set in automatic blocking mode, ActiveScout customers have an additional level of global security by being able to instantaneously block proven malicious sources based upon information fed from the global network of Scouts that reside in ACTNet. This enables real-time protection against zero-day threats and provides accurate detection/protection without the need for any form of signature updates or anomaly detection.

The ACTNet website is also a valuable resource for tracking real-time threats with information such as: a real-time world-wide map that pinpoints global hot spots, counters that supply statistics on the number of threats, IP address of the top attacker, the top service attacked, specific port lookup, and threat trends. In addition, visitors can view graphs on the top services being attacked, the top attackers, and hot spots. Subscribers have the added benefit of being able to use the site to view specific attacks to their network.

In the future, SOHOs, SMBs and consumers, will be able to enjoy this same level of protection by downloading a plug-in that is compatible with their firewall (Cisco, Check Point, NetScreen, etc.).
