Dear Customers and Partners,
The Ubuntu Linux 16.04 LTS Operating System will reach the end of its five-year support window on April 30th, 2021. After April 30th, no security patch or software update for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS will be made publicly available by its vendor, Canonical.
Since all eyeInspect software components are based on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, Forescout is actively working on providing Operating System update packages to Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. The update packages and documentation will be made available to customers and partners at the beginning of May.
What can I expect as of the EOL date?
eyeInspect will continue to work as usual. Professional Services will remain available and Technical Support will be available for customers with a paid support contract. However, after April 30, 2021, Canonical will not publish any security patch or bug fixes for Ubuntu 16.04.
If a bug/security issue will appear, the solution will be to apply the OS update package provided by Forescout.
