Network Security Game Changer award honors creative and outstanding success with Forescout solutions
CAMPBELL, Calif. – January 7, 2015 – Forescout Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of continuous monitoring and mitigation solutions for Global 2000 enterprises and government organizations, today announced that its second annual customer innovation award – The Network Security Game Changer – was presented to Ken Pfeil, global security officer at Pioneer Investments, and Matt Santill, chief information security officer at Broward College. Forescout established this award to recognize, honor and celebrate customers who are achieving outstanding success with Forescout solutions and broadly advancing the IT security community.
The selection committee chose Pfeil for his creative approach and success in using Forescout CounterACT® within Pioneer Investments’ security infrastructure to enhance endpoint compliance monitoring and integrate controls with other security solutions.
Pioneer Investments deployed Forescout to fortify measures to support compliance, improve operational oversight and reduce security risks. The firm wanted a security platform that could provide visibility, granular control and more flexible implementation capabilities for its wired and wireless networks – with the ultimate goal of utilizing it as a comprehensive control integration and endpoint remediation solution. Beyond the traditional implementation, Pioneer Investments is working toward leveraging the power of CounterACT to integrate with other solutions in its network and gain a more holistic security posture. “Being named a Forescout Network Security Game Changer is a testament to the cutting-edge integration work my team is doing to not only bolster the safety of the sensitive data stored on our networks, but to do it proactively before a breach occurs. Our customers are our bread and butter, so it is my job to ensure that we maintain the high level of trust they place in us,” said Pfeil. “Forescout’s CounterACT solution, in conjunction with the company’s ControlFabric® architecture, is the heart and brains of our intelligence network. Working as a cornerstone technology in our security infrastructure, it allows us to bring together formerly disparate security solutions and significantly improves our ability to manage our security infrastructure.”
The selection committee chose Santill for his progressive approach to using Forescout CounterACT to establish increased network visibility and control for both university endpoint devices and those personally-owned devices belonging to the university’s more than 68,000 students spanning four campuses and seven satellite locations.
As one of the largest colleges in the U.S., South Florida’s Broward College supports a broad range of devices connecting to its core network at any one time. Santill’s IT team was focused on investing in technologies that would enable a flexible, secure bring your own device (BYOD) strategy for its faculty, staff and students to facilitate learning. Leveraging Forescout ControlFabric technology, Broward is able to integrate CounterACT with its other network and security infrastructure elements.
