Federal Aviation Administration Adds Forescout to GTSI SAVES Contract

Forescout’s Network Access Control Platform to Protect FAA Networks

Cupertino, Calif. – September 23, 2008 – Forescout Technologies, a market leader in network access control (NAC) and policy management solutions for large enterprises, today announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) added its CounterACT® family of network appliances to the FAA’s Strategic Sourcing for the Acquisition of Various Equipment and Supplies (SAVES) contract with GTSI. CounterACT has been approved as an Agency standard by the FAA’s Technology Control Board. FAA networks throughout the U.S. are now using CounterACT to bolster security, achieve cost efficiencies, and minimize risk.

“We knew the FAA wanted an access control and intrusion prevention solution that would work ‘out of the box’ and deliver exceptional functionality at a very competitive cost. We are pleased that CounterACT fit all the requirements," said Tom Kennedy, GTSI Vice President of Sales.

Much like other civilian and DoD agencies, the FAA is challenged with enforcing policies on network devices and ensuring only authorized devices are connecting to the network. To help combat these challenges, the FAA is utilizing CounterACT’s network access control solution.

Gord Boyce, President of Forescout Technologies, pointed out that CounterACT solves this challenge by combining clientless network access control (NAC) and malicious threat detection to ensure connected and connecting devices are in compliance with network security policies and are free of self-propagating threats. CounterACT seamlessly integrates into any network environment without requiring costly upgrades or infrastructure changes, and enables enterprises to tailor enforcement actions to match the level of policy violations, ensuring user disruption only occurs when it is warranted or required by the IT staff.

“By deploying Forescout CounterACT appliances in the FAA network, GTSI and the FAA demonstrate a high level of confidence in our company and our technology," said Boyce. “Our customers continue to evaluate CounterACT as a best-in-class NAC solution, but come away attesting to the fact that the product delivers much more than they paid for. In short, CounterACT continues to be chosen for its technology, and embraced for its investment value."
