Cupertino, Calif. August 26, 2008
ForeScout Technologies, a leader in access control and compliance solutions, today announced
that it has joined the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance (SIA) partner program.
Under the McAfee SIA program, ForeScout will integrate its CounterACT™ Network Access
Control solution with ePolicy Orchestrator® (ePO™) software, McAfee's enterprise security and compliance
management system. This integration will extend the network enforcement options managed therein and
extend coverage to more devices on the corporate network, including those in non-802.1x environments.
Ayelet Steinitz, vice president of business development, remarked: “ForeScout is excited to partner with McAfee to address our mutual customers’ need for our complementary NAC functionality. Furthermore, this combined offering enables stronger enforcement across corporate networks drawing on the strength of McAfee ePO software in combination with CounterACT’s network enforcement mechanisms. Mutual customers will be able to deploy the integrated offering without any changes to their networks.” CounterACT is an out-of-band, clientless network access control appliance that delivers business-ready NAC by providing the ability to detect every device, interrogate the device for policy compliance, enforce network security policies and remediate non-compliant systems. This is accomplished without any form of network disruption. CounterACT provides complete pre- and post-connect access control policy enforcement ensuring devices remain fully compliant with network security policies. In addition, CounterACT’s built-in intrusion prevention module ensures the network is always protected from malicious threats no matter where or how a device connects. The McAfee ePO platform lets enterprises and governments centrally manage security and compliance products from multiple vendors, offering unprecedented cost savings and return on investment. With more than 35,000 customers and managing more than 60 million PCs and servers, this unique platform is helping McAfee SIA partners to extend their reach and create complementary functionality. Detailed information on the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance and McAfee ePO are available at: http://www.mcafee.com/sia. According to Joe Gottlieb, vice president of corporate strategy and technology alliances for McAfee: “Our customers must manage risk by balancing network access with security policy enforcement and continuous compliance management. McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator is the management platform of choice for these tasks and ForeScout will fit right in with their innovative NAC enforcement options.” |
