Cohort Partners with ForeScout Technologies to Distribute Best-of-Breed NAC Solution to the UK

Cohort Selects ForeScout for Clientless, Out-of-Band Technology

CUPERTINO, Calif. and London, UK—March 6, 2007 —ForeScout Technologies, a provider of clientless network access control (NAC) for Fortune 500 enterprises and government organisations, today announced that it has formalised a distribution agreement with Cohort Technology, a distribution start-up pioneered by industry entrepreneur Grahame Smee. Smee has vast experience in several high tech distribution companies with a focus on identifying best-of-breed emerging technologies and exposing them to enterprise customers. With several opportunities already in the works, Cohort's distribution channel will significantly bolster ForeScout's presence within the United Kingdom.

"NAC is one of the hottest technologies to emerge in recent years" said Grahame Smee, founder and Managing Director of Cohort Technology. "I have spent countless hours researching and reviewing market dynamics to determine what customers are looking for when it comes to NAC. The market is demanding solutions that are flexible and easily deployed. This can only come from a solution that is clientless and deploys out of band. ForeScout has demonstrated exceptional strength in these areas, which is why we have selected CounterACT for distribution."

"ForeScout is honoured to be working with Grahame Smee, a proven leader in technology distribution, and his new venture; Cohort Technology," stated Gord Boyce, global vice president of sales and marketing for ForeScout Technologies. "Customers have voiced their requirements for a NAC solution that works with existing infrastructure and does not add additional management overhead. CounterACT has successfully demonstrated its ability to seamlessly integrate with a customer's current environment providing clientless deep interrogation of connecting endpoints without increasing management overhead."

About CounterACT
ForeScout's CounterACT is the only non-disruptive clientless network access control solution to deliver End Point X-Ray™ and Fast Pass™, eliminating the usual mandatory "quarantine upon connection" phase, allowing users to quickly become productive. All security checks include deep interrogation for bullet-proof security, but are immediate, transparent and hassle-free to the users. CounterACT also enables extensive policy enforcement options to custom-fit network access control, and interrogates everything that enters the network, which means laptops, PDA's, printers and desktops are all scanned by ForeScout's clientless solution, which requires no endpoint software installation or downloads. Finally, CounterACT ensures no disruption to the network or normal business operations because it is not deployed inline, which means there is no need to upgrade or install new gear, and both the network and endpoints remain untouched.

"It's well known that complexity is the enemy of security, so any product that can add a layer of security in a very simple way, with virtually no administrative overhead, is worth a look."
