Cupertino, Calif.November 15, 2005ForeScout Technologies, the leading provider of clientless Network Access Control (NAC) and policy enforcement solutions, today announced that CounterAct™, their network access control appliance, has been selected by SC Magazine as a finalist in the category of Best Endpoint Security Solution for 2006.
The 2006 SC Awards are granted through an extensive judging process where expert judges select notable companies in each of the categories. The readership of SC Magazine then votes for the best in each of those categories and a select few are chosen as finalist. The winners will be announced, in conjunction with the RSA Conference, at the SC Magazine Global Awards banquet held on February 14th at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, California. "We are extremely pleased to be selected as a finalist in this year's SC Award for the Best Endpoint Security Solution," said T. Kent Elliott, CEO of ForeScout Technologies. "To be honored as a finalist in such a significant category by the readers of SC Magazine underscores our influence in the Network Access Control market and validates the quality that customers see in our products." ForeScout recently introduced the CounterACT 5.0 security appliance, which provides complete network access control by enforcing pre-defined enterprise network access policies. Building on the existing strength of its core patented technology, Active Response, CounterACT integrates granular network policy enforcement with malware blocking and vulnerability assessment/mitigation technology. CounterACT delivers an integrated security platform enabling network administrators to create/enforce granular access policies for all endpoints in conjunction with existing network elements. CounterACT provides a cost effective, flexible solution for delivering complete policy enforcement and intrusion prevention without the need for network infrastructure overhauls. The results of the votes are from the readers and information security product users (Reader Trust Award), from IT professionals (SC Awards Council), and from the independent judging panel (Judges Award). SC Awards 2006 With over 1,300 product and service nominations from over 330 competing companies globally, the SC Awards are the world's leading awards program for the information security industry. The SC Awards program spans US, Asia, and UK. The SC Awards are composed of both the Reader Trust Technology Awards—voted on by SC readers in each region and the SC Awards Council, a group of carefully selected senior CSOs—and the Professional Awards that are judged by a panel of the industry's top talents. Recognizing technical excellence and professional achievement across a variety of different categories, the SC Awards is a truly unique program developed to bring attention to the industry's top products and highlight the professionals that have both created them and use them within their companies. These industry achievements are acknowledged during the exciting US Awards ceremony taking place this year at the Fairmont, San Jose on February 14th, 2006.
