ForeScout Technologies Raises $10M in Funding to Fuel Growth in Rapidly Expanding Network Access Control (NAC) Market

Cupertino, California USA, Tel Aviv, Israel and London, UK —October 19, 2005—ForeScout Technologies, Inc., a leader in clientless network policy enforcement and intrusion prevention solutions, announced today that it has raised an additional $10 million in venture funding to fuel its exponential growth. Amadeus Capital Partners, a new ForeScout investor, led the round in which existing investors, Accel Partners, Meritech Capital, Pitango Venture Capital and Itouchu Corporation also participated.

"Amadeus has a proven track record of funding industry defining companies" said T. Kent Elliott, ForeScout's CEO. We are pleased to welcome them to our existing venture partners enabling ForeScout's continued penetration of the network security marketplace. This additional investment strengthens ForeScout's ability to answer the industry demand for robust and easy network access control and intrusion prevention solutions."

ForeScout recently introduced the CounterACT 5.0 security appliance, which builds on the existing strength of its core patented technology, Active Response. CounterACT provides complete network access control enforcing all network access policies. This functionality is integrated with ForeScout's signatureless intrusion prevention technology, which ensures network protection in real-time from "zero-day" threats even if the connecting endpoint is in compliance with network access policies.

Additionally, CounterACT provides the ability to identify any existing vulnerabilities and deploys a virtual firewall, protecting the device(s) from potential exploit. With this expanded functionality, CounterACT has become an integrated security platform enabling network administrators the ability to block/quarantine malware and create/enforce granular access policies for all endpoints in conjunction with existing network elements. This is an essential aspect of fulfilling data security requirements for regulatory compliance. CounterACT provides a cost effective, flexible solution for delivering complete policy enforcement and intrusion prevention without the need for major network infrastructure overhauls.

Richard Anton, the Amadeus Director who joins the ForeScout Board, said: "Threats to network security are a key issue for enterprises today. Businesses and governments are constantly seeking clever, effective products to meet these threats. In our view, the products that will lead this market are those that can reduce management burden and successfully integrate the different layers of protection required. ForeScout is pioneering in both these respects and we are delighted to be participating in the company's growth."

ForeScout's customer base continues to expand across multiple vertical markets including banking/finance, consumer, entertainment, energy, healthcare and government/military agencies. Among ForeScout's 275+ customers are some of the most security intensive Fortune 500 companies, who look to ForeScout to ensure business continuity through leading edge clientless network access control and network security policy management/enforcement.
