CUPERTINO, Calif.August 16, 2005ForeScout Technologies, the leading provider of network-based Intelligent Intrusion Prevention™ and Network Access Control, today announced the completion of its NIAP Common Criteria (CC) Certification. The CC Certification allows ForeScout to pursue a wide range of government contracts, prompting the organization to establish a Federal Sales & Support Team dedicated specifically to generating business and serving clients within the public space.
ForeScout's appliances are currently deployed at a number of federal agencies, as well as defense and civilian contractors. As a part of the company's strategy to expand its presence in the government community, ForeScout will be exhibiting at the 2005 DOIM/AKM Conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL, August 23-25, 2005. "We are very optimistic about our NIAP CC certification, as our products and services have been engineered specifically to provide a high level of protection against hackers, malware, and internal espionage—the type of security concerns for which government compliance requirements have been established," said T. Kent Elliott, Chief Executive Officer of ForeScout Technologies. "ForeScout products combine the type of intrusion prevention and network access control functionality necessary to operate safely in the modern world. The CC certification further emphasizes our ability to deliver these services to government clients." ForeScout's CC certification comes on the heels of the company's announcement regarding the launch of CounterACT 5.0, the newest version of its security appliance designed for suppressing malware and espionage attempts anywhere inside an enterprise network. CounterACT 5.0 offers superior intrusion protection capabilities, as well as ActiveNetwork Integrity, an agentless network access control engine that allows administrators to create granular network access policies that provide an extra layer of security and regulatory compliance for enterprise networks. ActiveNetwork Integrity blocks users from accessing the network if specific requirements outlined by administrators are not met. Once network access rules are defined, the engine immediately applies the policy rules across the network automatically, blocking or quarantining endpoints that do not meet the security policy. CounterACT 5.0 also features a Network Information Portal, which supplies help desk managers and IT security personnel with a sophisticated search engine for leveraging network information correlated by CounterACT and CounterACT plugins. In addition to streamlining security event management, the portal satisfies regulatory compliance requirements for event/employee correlation of security events and network security incident reporting. CounterACT 5.0's new network control components come with a variety of plug-ins, supporting seamless integration with network resources and endpoint access devices and enabling administrators to leverage existing static network elements to dynamically block threats. The appliance deploys easily within the existing infrastructure and with no disruption of network operations; its minimal administrator requirements ensure low TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). ForeScout Technologies will be exhibiting at Booth# 1537 at the 2005 DOIM Conference in Fort Lauderdale. Additional information regarding ForeScout, the company's recent CC certification, or about CounterACT 5.0 can be found at www.forescout.com. |
